Despite still being classified at U18 level, this generation is already fully integrated into the U19 qualifying structure. Having secured their place in League A following strong results at U17 level, the Young Lions face a challenging group featuring Croatia, Spain and Bulgaria. A top-three finish will be enough to retain their League A status for the next round—an objective well within reach given the quality of the squad. England U19, managed by Will Antwi, are set to travel to Portugal for the decisive round of fixtures in their bid to qualify for the UEFA European U19 Championship 2026. Should they progress, the tournament will be held in North Wales from 28 June to 11 July. After a comfortable first qualifying phase, the Young Lions now face a far sterner challenge, with only the group winners advancing from a pool that includes Portugal, Serbia and Poland—leaving no margin for error.
