England U20, now officially known as the England Elite Squad and led by head coach Ben Futcher, are gearing up for their sole fixture of the October international break against Switzerland. Unlike the March camp, the Young Lions will play just one match this time around, scheduled for Friday 10 October at 1pm BST at St. George’s Park, the national football centre in Burton. Following a narrow defeat to Italy last month in Chesterfield, Futcher’s side will be keen to bounce back and make a statement against the Swiss.

Familiar faces and notable returns
The England U20 setup continues to showcase a gifted generation, many of whom have already tasted senior football. Among them is Jayden Meghoma, currently on loan at Rangers from Brentford, who has impressed in the Scottish Premiership and is expected to anchor the backline. Up front, all eyes will be on Sam Amo-Ameyaw, the Strasbourg forward who has made a promising start in Ligue 1. Also returning to the fold is Arsenal goalkeeper Tommy Setford, while Jimmy-Jay Morgan, now at Peterborough United, adds firepower to the attack. The midfield will be orchestrated by Manchester United’s Shea Lacey and Chelsea’s Harrison McMahon, both of whom continue to develop steadily. This October squad features a mix of top-flight prospects and loanees gaining valuable experience in the lower leagues—reflecting Futcher’s commitment to nurturing talent across all levels.
