England U17 continue their latest international window with a second fixture against Israel, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm this Monday, 28 September, at the Sportschule Wedau in Germany. Barry Lewtas’ Young Lions made an impressive start to the camp with a commanding 5-1 victory over the Republic of Ireland at St George’s Park, with Hezekiah-Daniel Grimwade, Xavier Parker, Josh Henry, Darren Motsi and Josh Blake all finding the net. They will now look to carry that momentum into their opening fixture of the tournament in Wedau.
The Young Lions looking to build on emphatic victory
Barry Lewtas still has a 28-man squad at his disposal for this international window, with several players catching the eye in the victory over the Republic of Ireland. Hezekiah-Daniel Grimwade opened the scoring with a superb half-volley, while Xavier Parker and Josh Henry also found the net. Substitute Darren Motsi won and converted a penalty before Josh Blake wrapped up the victory in stoppage time. Charlie Phillips also impressed in goal, while Reggie Watson and Javahn Woode contributed to a strong overall team display. Following such a convincing start, the Young Lions will now look to back it up against Israel before facing Venezuela and Germany in the days ahead.
