Fresh off the back of a dazzling attacking display against Clermont in the round of 16, Phil Dowson’s men will line up with an unchanged starting XV, a side brimming with confidence and bolstered by several England internationals. But their French visitors, transformed since their heavy defeat to the Saints back in December and hungry for revenge, may well have the tools to derail the ambitions of the East Midlands club.

In the midfield, captain Fraser Dingwall partners South African centre Burger Odendaal in a combination that blends brawn with subtlety. There’s more good news for the home side as full-back George Furbank makes a timely return to the matchday squad. The club captain has been sidelined since December with a fractured forearm but is now fit again and listed among the replacements. The French side have rediscovered their form in recent months and will pose a real threat if the Saints drop their standards even slightly. But with a raucous home crowd behind them and a squad firing on all cylinders, Northampton will fancy their chances of reaching the final four.
