After a disappointing start against Scotland — where the Young Lions conceded the only goal of the game in the dying moments — Liam Bramley’s side find themselves third in the group and now under pressure to win their remaining two matches, starting with today’s crucial encounter.
Bramley’s 22-man squad features several familiar faces from September’s training camp, along with a few new additions. Among them is goalkeeper Tommy Betts (Sheffield United), midfielder Charlie Holland (Chelsea FC), who receives his first U17 call-up, and forward Kyran Thompson (Arsenal FC). One of the youngest in the group, Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli (Chelsea), born in 2010, continues his steady integration into this age category.
