The England U19 side, managed by Ben Futcher, will play four fixtures during the first international break of the 2026–27 season. The Young Lions are continuing their preparations ahead of their own U19 European Championship qualifying campaign, which will get underway later this year.
The camp will begin in England with a fixture against the Republic of Ireland on Friday, 25 September at 7pm at St. George’s Park. The Young Lions will then travel to southern Spain for three matches at the Marbella Football Centre. They will face Norway on Tuesday, 29 September at 3pm, the United States on Friday, 2 October at 3pm, before rounding off the camp against Belgium on Monday, 5 October at 12pm.
A Squad That Already Knows Each Other Well
Ben Futcher has named a 24-man squad for the camp, with the selection continuing the approach taken during the Young Lions’ previous international gatherings. No player is receiving their first England call-up at any age-group level this time around, meaning the squad already possesses a strong understanding and a wealth of established partnerships.
Several players who featured for the U19s during the previous international break have retained their places, including Max Dowman, who remains part of the attacking unit, alongside a number of other players continuing their development with this age group.
The squad brings together players from several of England’s leading clubs, as well as a handful of youngsters currently playing abroad or out on loan, including Reggie Walsh, Harry Gray, Reigan Heskey or Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez.
That continuity should allow Ben Futcher to build on an already well-established group, with the Young Lions set to use these four fixtures to further develop their preparations ahead of the European challenges that await them.
