The England U20 side, managed by Darren Moore, will return to action during the first international break of the 2026–27 season. The Young Lions will travel to Spain to play their opening three fixtures of their Euro Elite League campaign. They will face Italy, France and Germany in succession, with all three matches set to take place at the Estadi Olímpic Camilo Cano on the Costa Blanca.
England’s first fixture will be against Italy on Friday, 25 September at 10:30am, before taking on France on Tuesday, 29 September at 10:30am. The Young Lions will round off their training camp on Saturday, 3 October at 4:30pm, when they face Germany.
A Squad Built on Continuity from the U19s
Darren Moore has named a 24-man squad for England’s first camp of the season. The selection largely builds on the group that represented the U19s during the previous international break, with a number of players who featured at the younger age group now stepping up to the U20 level.
Among them are Harry Amass, Airidas Golambeckis, Kian Noble, Harrison Armstrong, Jack Fletcher, Divine Mukasa, Trey Nyoni, Christopher Rigg, Jesse Derry, Shumaira Mheuka and Jay Robinson.
Several members of the squad have already accumulated significant senior experience, notably Christopher Rigg at Sunderland, Trey Nyoni at Liverpool and, in particular, Harrison Armstrong, who has established himself as a regular starter for Everton.
The squad also includes several players currently out on loan, including Nicholas Michalski, Divine Mukasa, Jesse Derry, Shumaira Mheuka and Jay Robinson.
This squad announcement also marks a first England call-up for Jim Thwaites. The Manchester United midfielder had never previously represented England at any age-group level. He will therefore make his first appearance in a Three Lions shirt during this U20 camp.
