England U20 Starting XI to Face Italy

By Arthur Le Neel September 25, 2026 2 minutes read

England U20 is set to begin their 2026-27 Euro Elite League campaign with an opening fixture against Italy, with kick-off scheduled for 10.30am this Friday, 25 September, at Estadi Olímpic Camilo Cano on the Costa Blanca. Managed by Darren Moore, the Young Lions will play three fixtures in Spain during this international window, with France and Germany to follow in the days ahead.

A squad boasting experience and attacking options

Darren Moore has a 23-man squad at his disposal for the first camp of the campaign, with several players already familiar with this level. Trey Nyoni (Liverpool), Christopher Rigg (Sunderland) and Harrison Armstrong (Everton) provide quality options in midfield, while Divine Mukasa, on loan at West Ham from Manchester City, can also offer creativity. In defence, Ayden Heaven, Harry Amass and Christian McFarlane are among the players to watch, while the attack includes the likes of Jesse Derry, Shumaira Mheuka, Shea Lacey and Mikey Moore. With three fixtures against Italy, France and Germany, this international window represents a first major test for this group and will give Moore the opportunity to assess his squad against high-quality opposition.

With a deep‑rooted passion for football, athletics, rugby and swimming, my understanding of sport has been shaped by the great international competitions, where national achievements take precedence over individual glory. A keen admirer of statistics, I take pleasure in casting light on athletes and disciplines too often overlooked, while offering a broad and exacting coverage of British sport in all its richness.
